The once powerhouse team of early 2000’s, New Jersey Nets have officially undergone a makeover thanks to part owner Jay-Z. New images of the designs were recently tweeted by an unknown source then confirmed by a representative of the Nets organization.

What do you think? Obviously the new logo is bold and refined , almost reminiscent of an ABA classic look. After trading in the traditional Nets colors of red, white, and blue, for black and white, Jay -Z decided to use hip-hop references in the branding of Brooklyn’s new logos, a first for any professional basketball team.

Using quotes like “Go Hard” from his 2008 hit with Kanye West and Rihanna as well as “Hello Brooklyn” from the Beastie Boy Classic “Pauls Boutique”, Jay-Z shows his influence inside the boardroom making sure the team pays tribute to its’ boroughs
musical roots.
